DAAD research grants provide foreign doctoral candidates and younger academics and scientists with an opportunity to carry out studies or continue their education in Germany. There are funding programmes for diverse qualification stages and ranges in a profession. The offers additionally promote the exchange of experience and networking among colleagues.
Eligibility Criteria:
Excellently-certified doctoral candidates and young teachers and scientists who have completed a master‘s diploma or Diplom, or in exceptional cases a Bachelor’s degree at the latest by the point they begin their grant-supported studies or those who’ve already completed a PhD (postdocs).
Doctoral candidates who’re already doing their doctorate at a German university can not practice.
Scholarship Amount/Value:
depending on academic level, monthly payments of
- euros 850.- for graduates,
- euros 1,200.- for doctoral applicants and postdocs
payments in the direction of health, twist of fate and private liability insurance cover travel allowance, until those costs are covered through the home usa or another supply of funding

An independent selection committee consisting of specialist scientists reviews applications.

- a convincing and well-planned research project or course of continuing education
- academic achievements
